15 April 2025:

Today was so freaking fire, one of the best days of the year so far! I met up with 2 of my friends at around 12:30 to go loiter around at west kowloon and go to the art museum! I freaking love my friends they are so nice and I love talking and hanging out with them! The weather was so amazing, the freaking sun was shining and the sea was vast and beautiful! We first ate sum pizza at this sorta expensive resteraunt and it was pretty delicous if not a little overpriced! Then we loitered around and went into M+ art museum! The student tickets were 60HKD which wasn't too expensive, and the art gallery was freaking amazing! I've been there a few times in the past, and they always change up the pieces exhibited and add different like galleries its great! so everytime there different stuff to see! My favourite art piece in the entire museum was The Lovers - Marina Abramovic (I put an image of it down below, its da photo with the ufo drawing thing), its so like evocative and esoteric and idk... its just so mysterious but ancient and feels like theres so much history in it. ALSO little rant, as a certified "modern" art lover, i don't understand people who hate modern art! I mean I sorta understand their viewpoint, but I feel they just misunderstand the purpose of a lot of "modern" art. You are meant to think about it, develop your own interpretation of it, like its not meant to just look cool or impressive ya know! And it doesn't have to have a defined meaning or whatever, like the fun in it is analyzing it urself! Its not just about what you see, but what that piece makes you think... idk how to describe it its so cool! :3

We loitered around in the park so much and drank coke and ate processed food it was so fun! We built this precariously balanced tower of cups and packaging and talked about music n stuff heck yea! Neutral Milk hotel yap! And that was pretty much my day it was so goated!

Yay today has been mostly pretty fire! I woke up pretty late (like 10:00) and practiced sum guitar! Then I had a little hospital checkup but after that I went over to wan chai computer center to get a 1tb ssd and 8gb ram to upgrade my moms old thinkpad x201i! I dug this out a closet a few days ago (right before the trip to kyoto) and my mom gave it to me cuz it was supa old (from around 2008) and like abadoned tech. Its really neat so I decided to upgrade the specs a lil bit and install linux on it! Anyways I went over to wanchai computer center and got all the parts i needed but unfortunatly got kinda scammed/upcharged when it came to the price...I accidentally bought my parts from like the one store in the shop with the worsttt reputation! I didnt know about this before then but this store is supposably very scummy. im talking upcharging up to double price, stealing parts from devices they claim to "repair" etc etc. They upcharged me like double for the ram so I got scammed for $300-400 HKD UGHH!! at least i learned my lesson, always research stores before buying from em...

After I got home I transferred all my moms old files onto a flash drive and began swapping out the ram and storage! It was suprisingly very easy, thinkpads are so freaking modular! like ya just gorra screw out this plastic thingy and put in the ram and it works! I then installed linux mint onto a flash drive since ive heard linux mint is the best for beginners, and attempted to install it... BUT FOR NO REASON THE THINKPAD JUST COUDNT DETECT THE HARDDRIVE! it was so annoying I tried to troubleshoot it for the next 2 hours... the laptop just completly wasn't detecting the flash drive in the bios for no reason! I went to sleep cuz it wuz 12:30 at night and woke up in the morning and retried. I eventually tried randomly pressing the different fn keys during the boot up AND SOMEHOW PRESSING F3 FIXED IT??? like it just went directly into the linux mint setup screen which is what is supposed to happen normally..! yay im so glad it worked out though, cuz at that point I was starting to suspect the shady scummy store maybe sold me a defect SSD. Shit this is trailing on into april 15 which is supposed to be the next blog entry...

Unfortunatly today was the last day of the Kyoto trip! I woke up at 9:00 today and ate a poop ton of food at the hotel breakfest brunch! They have like these really freaking delicous hash potatoes there, its like a standard hashbrown but a small potato clump instead of a large clump! They have a higher ratio of crispy bits to potato-ey bits compared to normal hashbrowns, which I strongly prefer! I ate like sooo much of them today during breakfast it was so yummy! After breakfast we wandered around Kyoto for a little bit and found this sick arcade!! I spent 1000yen there playing racing games with my dad it wuz so fun! THe arcade is massive and the games are so much better and cheaper than the ones you find in Hong Kong! I won most of da games cuz im the goat! After that we went to da hotel and checked out our hotel room! Then we went over to da train station and rode the Haruku line over to the airport! I was reading the shining during the train ride, it was pretty fun and relaxing!

`

When we got to the airport we first went to a resteraunt for late lunch and it was SOOO FREAKING GOOD!! I had konkatsu pork and holy poop it was so yummy! I did not expect an airport resteraunt to be the second best meal I had during this trip but it wuz so crispy and yum! After that we went through border security and it was PACKED. Like literally waves of people the line stretched across like at least 5 times it was crazy! Osakas tourism industry is actually booming i've never seen that many people in an airport before. After that we sat around a little bit and then boarded the plane and here I am now! Im writing this on the plane so yeah thats all for today! The trip was so freaking fun!

Yay today was very fun and eventful too! Its the second last day of my vacation to Kyoto and today was supa fun! Woke up around 9:30 and immedietally headed to da train station to get breakfest! I had 2 a SUPER yummy fried curry bun thingy, and a decent potato mayonnaise bread thing! After that we started trying to figure out how to get to the "Sagona Romantic Train" thing we booked! Its like a scenic train route in da countryside! We took da JR Sagona Line to get there and HOLY POOP the views on the way were so amazing! cuz we were headed to da more naturey and countryside area of japan and the weather was so amazing so it was just so nice! There were huge valleys of high trees and green fields and ahh!! Here are sum photos!

We got to sagona station and we had to walk for around like 15min to get to the scenic train thingy and AHHH THE WEATHER AND SCENERY WAS ACTUALLY AMAZING i thought the views from the train were good BUT THE NATURE AND EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! the sun was shining and the grass was green and it was just amazing! i've been stuck in dense urban enviorments my entire life (cough cough hong kong cough cough) so I rarely get to actually exprience nature and countryside and stuff! its so beautiful! Heres sum photos!

We got to the scenic train entrance around 50min early so we just wandered around for a little bit! It was so nice and relaxing! After it was close to the start-time we went into the entrance and boarded the scenic train and IT WAS SO FIRE! The view from the window outside was actually freaking fire like tons of cherry blossoms and stuff! Huge valleys with clear water running beneath it, actually breathtaking!

After the train we wandered in the little town near the train station! It's a like tourist town but it was still really fun to wander around! We went into this really cute british style teahouse and I had sum scones and tea! The cafe was decorated super nice and the tea and scones were super delicous! After dat we went to the hotel, rested, and had dinner! The dinner was really freaking good, freaking fried steak curry rice (it looks really bad in the photo but it was actually very delicous!) And then its now with me writing this little blog entry! :D Fun day!

11 April 2025:

Today was super fun and did a ton of cool stuff yay! Still on vacation in Kyoto its so fun. I woke up at like 8:00 but stayed in bed in like that sorta weird lucid half asleep state for another hour and a half! Then I demolished like a huge plate of bacon+hashbrowns at da hotel breakfest buffet thingy and went out! We first went to Maruyama Park and OMG ITS SO FREAKING BEAUTIFUL AHHH!! like its so serene and peaceful and the weather was actually perfect it was amazing! then we went to Sangusagendo Temple and that was amazing. It's a Japanese Buddhist temple (or maybe hindu im actually not sure, im guessing its just a japanese folk variation of buddhism with hindu influences, cuz it borrows a ton of gods from hinduism!) (do not quote me on that though i am by no means an expert!) and the temple was so beautiful and amazing! The main highlight was the main hall which contained 1001 statues of the god Kannon and a few other gods! I don't really believe in any gods myself but I still pray anyways cuz its good practice! (and also just in case its real LOL) It was extremley spritual and awedropping the sheer amount of statues and altars. I prayed to both this god of knowledge/art which was holding a lute and the god of music, so hopefully I have good luck in my musical endeavors and bands! :D Here sum photos from the those places!

After this I ate lunch and it was SOOOO GOOODDDDD holy shit it was kotatsu pork and it was the best i've ever had. if ya dont know thats like the japenese fried pork dish and it was so much better then the ones I had in hong kong, like perfectly cripsy and yummy and delicous! And it wasn't that expensive too it was like 60HKD for some really well made konkatsu yay! then I rested in the hotel room for a lil bit and worked on this website yay! then we went out for dinner, unfortuatly ate at kinda a bad tourist trap udon spot but whatever... THEN WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF TODAY! I went to this freaking fire metal bar (with my parents LOL) it was so sick! its called "ROCK BAR CRUNCH" its so fire! like a tiny little bar where ya listen to metal music and shit and talk to the owner about metal its fire. there were other people in da bar and I talked to em and it was so fun! we get to queue music videos and I played entombed and haggus it was great! please do go check it out if any of yall go to kyoto, it is so amazing and the owner guy is so nice and friendly! I have 2 photos of da bar so they are below! it wuz so fire! :3

Update 2: Kyoto is so freaking nice and fun yay! So after getting to Kyoto, we went outside to explore a lil bit and ate at this yummy but kinda overpriced "nicer" resteraunt for dinner. (my parents wanted to but honestly didn't taste all that great) but then after that went to freaking Don-Don Donki (my favourite place in da world) and shopped and got sum cool ass stuff! I got a freaking fire godzilla shirt it was great! So excited for tomorrow we have so much planned! Here are sum photos from that day!
